Small brass plate on priest's kneeler and reading desk, North side of Chancel. A suggested translation follows.

a(d)^.m(aiorem)^.d(ei)^.g(loriam)  +  in usu(m) eccl(es)iæ, cujus rector ven(erabilis) d(omi)nus Lovelace Stamer, archidiaconus; et in gratam memoriam consociationis in sacris dei negotiis. Per xxix annos; presbyteri adjutores, qui supersunt, d(ono).d(ederunt). in adv(entu).   1886 :

To the greater glory of God  +  for the use of the church, whose Rector was the Venerable Sir Lovelace Stamer, Archdeacon; and in grateful memory of his fellowship in God's holy work. (He served) for 29 years; the assistant priests ¹, who remained, gave this gift in Advent   1886 :

NB1: A nearby memorial makes it clear that "dominus" here indicates "Sir", since it commemorates Sir Lovelace Tomlinson Stamer, Bart, Archdeacon and Rector as above, and later Suffragan Bishop of Shrewsbury. (See also the Chetwode memorial in Mucklestone and two of the Sneyd memorials.)

NB2: In the original Latin there are no capitals within sentences except for the proper name Lovelace Stamer.
